Ismail Amaan, BA (Hons)
Ismail Amaan graduated from the University of London, and previously worked as the Operations Co-ordinator of a UK-wide faith umbrella body, and was then appointed Director of a North London based charity. He has also worked with local government, and other Government Agencies.
He has extensive experience of project management, including working with children in a community setting. His community related work has been sited in Central Government reports as an example of best practice, and has also enjoyed coverage in international media.
Mohamed Zina
Mohamed Zina has extensive experience in community related work. He has been Chairman of a North London Housing Association and continues to be a Management Board member since 1986, and is also currently the Treasurer of a London based charity which he joined in 1990. He also has personal experience of fostering.
In his professional life he has worked as a Senior Local Government Officer before joining Shelter Campaign for the Homeless in central London. Since 1991 he has been the Managing Director of a large Property Management company.
Peter Howes, CQSW, DipM
Peter Howes has thirty-three years social work experience, of which twenty-eight years are in family placement management. He was previously Service Manager of several Local Authority fostering teams before joining Foster Care Link.
He has a broad range of skills and has acted as a professional adviser, chair and trainer of adoption and fostering panels. He was a BAAF Management Committee and Legal Group member for six years. He has experience of complex social work practice including quality practice audits, inspections, running training courses, chairing complex meetings, creating and implementing policies and procedures and giving talks and lectures.
Abdurrahman Sayed, DipSW, BA (Hons)
Abdurrahman Sayed is the Senior Practitioner within our team and acts as the Principal Supervising Social Worker for Foster Care Link, supervising and carrying out all the main functions of supporting carers and children in placement. He is a graduate from the University of Central Lancashire.
He has previous experience of working with many Local Authority Departments including elderly peoples teams, mental health teams and child protection teams.
As well as a qualified social worker, Abdurrahman is an Islamic Scholar, having graduated from the Darool-Uloom Bury.
Khadijah Hoodless, DipSW, DipHE
Khadijah Hoodless is the Principal Assessing Social Worker within our team, carrying out initial, health and safety and full family assessments of potential foster carers.
She has substantial experience in the field, having previously worked as a social worker in a residential setting as well as serving on a children and family team.
Ayub Patel - Office Manager
Ayub Patel is an experienced administrator and manager with fifteen years former experience in the field. He was previously a Senior Administrator for the Hackney Library Service, and a Sales Manager at an electrical wholesale and retail operation. He is also a committed community activist, and has been a Board Member for a North London charity for six years.
Faiza Zaman - Foster Carer Support Worker
Faiza Zaman is an experienced Support Worker, having worked for a number of agencies including local authorities, within this role. Her key responsibility is giving additional support to foster carers that require such assistance.
Foster Care Link also has a number of other Social Workers employed under various contracts, as well as two Senior Social Workers as professional advisers attached to our agency.
Other experienced professionals that we have appointed to compliment our team are a Medical Adviser, Human Resources Adviser and Financial Affairs Adviser.
As well as the above staff and management team, Foster Care Link operates a fully functioning Fostering Panel. The members of the panel include the directors and key social workers listed above, plus:
